About the Artist

Daniel Eggli (born 1972 in Rorschach, Switzerland) studied at the University of the Arts (ZHdK) in Zurich. In 2001 he received the sponsorship award of his university. Since 2002 he has been a lecturer at the Scuola di Scultura di Peccia, Switzerland; since 2010 he has been a lecturer at the Liechtenstein School of Art (FL). His sculptural works are committed to figuration, with individual figures and larger ensembles worked out of solid wood with a chainsaw. The work is always based on the observation of people, representing characters that are often ironically overdrawn as symbols representing different social groups.

Daniel Eggli is internationally represented in galleries and has exhibited in Basel (CH), Bologna (I), Münster (D), Brussels (B), Barcelona (E) and Frankfurt (D).
