Drawing Rooms art gallery at the Mana Contemporary complex in Jersey City, New Jersey.
The exhibit asks artists to consider visual weight, tension, and spatial harmony. Balanced works may be symmetrical or contain elements that radiate from a central focal point, creating harmony and stability. Unbalanced works may feel unstable, precarious, or energetic through off-center focal points, clashing colors, or deliberate weight shifts. Examples of artists exploring these ideas include Richard Serra, Malevich, Andy Goldsworthy, Piet Mondrian, Helen Frankenthaler, and others.
Artists chosen will also be considered for other Victory Hall programs, including The Art Project JC lobbies and online Artsy.net exhibits throughout the year.
Drawing Rooms is a project of Victory Hall Inc., a 501(c)3 non-profit organization producing exhibitions, programs, and public art projects in the NJ/NY area with a national and international reach since 2001.
