About
Overview
AIR Taipei, managed by the Taipei Culture Foundation, provides artist-in-residence opportunities at Treasure Hill Artist Village (THAV), a historic settlement along the Xindian River. Two programs are offered: the International Residency Program for diverse creative disciplines, and THAV X PACT Residency Program focused on contemporary puppetry exploration.
Program Duration
- International Residency Program 2024: 8-12 weeks
- THAV X PACT Residency Program 2024: 12-16 weeks
Accommodation & Support
Private accommodation with private or shared bathroom and kitchen at Treasure Hill Artist Village. Facilities include piano room, woodworking studio, dance studio, rehearsal room (PACT program), puppet workshops (PACT program), gallery space, and basic equipment for visual, audio, and performance art. Staff assistance available.
Eligible Disciplines
- International Program: Visual art, performance art, music, architecture, literature, curatorial and cultural research, interdisciplinary arts
- THAV X PACT Program: Puppetry, object theatre
Fees & Support
- No application fee
- THAV X PACT selected artists receive production fee of NTD 20,000 (tax included)
- Presentation fee may be provided depending on artist's proposal
Artist Expectations
- Obligatory: Orientation, artist's talk, open studio
- Optional: Curator visit, exhibition, performance, workshop
- THAV X PACT selected artists must develop and produce at least one 20-minute (or longer) performance for PACT's festival events
