Overview

Warsaw awards annual sports scholarships to talented athletes and coaches. In 2022, the city awarded 29 Olympic scholarships, 418 youth scholarships, and 12 coaching scholarships, spending over 3.6 million PLN.

Eligibility

Applicants must be Warsaw residents, not currently receiving or applying for other sports scholarships, and must have achieved outstanding sports accomplishments in disciplines covered by the Youth Sports System (SSM), Olympic Games, Paralympic Games, or Deaf Olympic Games.

Scholarship categories and requirements

• Olympic scholarship: top performances in Olympic-covered sports
• Youth scholarship: placement 1–3 in Polish national junior/youth/senior championships, or placement 1–6 in world championships
• Coaching scholarship: coaching at least one athlete meeting the above criteria

Award amounts

Scholarships are paid monthly. Minimum amounts are 500 PLN (Olympic), 300 PLN (youth), or 200 PLN (coaching). Final amounts depend on the number of eligible recipients.

How to apply

Submit your application and required documents through the Electronic Scholarship System (ESdOS) on the Warsaw city website using electronic signature, trusted profile, e-ID, or qualified signature. You may also apply in person or by mail.

Applications accepted until 31 December 2022, 16:00.
