Overview
The Windgate Artist in Residence at UA Little Rock is a semester-long residency program open to artists, designers, and craftspeople. The program provides time to make and develop work, interact with the School of Art and Design community, and engage with the greater Little Rock community.
Program Details
- Fall 2027: August 15 - December 15, 2027
- Spring 2028: January 15 - May 15, 2028
- 24-hour access to private studio space
- Access to specialized facilities: Woodshop (CNC, laser cutter), Ceramics Studio, Jewelry and Metalsmithing Studio, Smithy and Foundry, Photography Studio and Darkrooms, Printmaking Studio

Eligibility
High school diploma required. MFA, BFA, BA, or commensurate experience preferred. Evidence of active participation in exhibitions at the national or international level preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Make artwork in the Windgate Center of Art + Design Monday-Friday
- Maintain weekly open studio hours
- Give one public artist's talk
- Critique students
- Participate as guest artist in relevant classes (1-2 times)
