About
Overview
The Creative Glass Fellowship Program at WheatonArts has awarded fellowships to artists working in glass for close to forty years, with over 365 professional and emerging artists from the U.S. and more than 26 foreign countries having received fellowships. Fellows receive a concentrated period to develop and refine their work with access to 24-hour studio facilities, technical resources, housing, and a stipend while experimenting with traditional and innovative glassmaking processes. For 2027, one 6-week summer session and three 8-week fall fellowships are available. WheatonArts will also offer the Paul Stankard Flamework Fellowship, honoring Paul Stankard's legacy and dedicated to artists innovating in flameworked glass.

Eligibility
- Must be over 21 years of age when the fellowship commences
- Must be proficient in the English language
- Must have the ability to secure assistants if needed (WheatonArts does not provide assistants)
- Must be capable of assisting other fellows when mutually beneficial
- Must be able to reside in on-site housing during the fellowship term
- Must be willing to work in view of visitors for a portion of the fellowship
- Must submit one work made during the fellowship to the acquisitions committee for review; if accepted, it will be included in the Museum of American Glass collection
- Must commit to one virtual presentation
- Women, BIPOC individuals, LGBTQ individuals, people with disabilities, members of ethnically diverse populations, and foreign-born residents are strongly encouraged to apply
