Overview
William Scofield Gallery invites submissions of contemporary fiber and textile artwork for Texture, a juried group exhibition exploring the role of surface, material, structure, and tactile experience in fiber-based art. This exhibition seeks work that demonstrates thoughtful engagement with texture as a visual, material, or conceptual element.
Eligible Work
- Weaving, embroidery, quilting, felting, basketry, mixed-media fiber work, soft sculpture, fiber installation, surface design, textile-based photography, and other fiber-adjacent practices
- Both two-dimensional and three-dimensional works are welcome
- Texture may be subtle or pronounced, tactile or implied, structural or decorative

Eligibility
Open to artists 18+ working in fiber, textile or fiber-adjacent media, with natural materials. Work must be original, created by the submitting artist, and completed within the last five years. Work previously exhibited at William Scofield Gallery is not eligible.
Fees
Non-refundable entry fee of $30 covers submission of up to 3 artworks. Entry fees are non-refundable except for withdrawals requested before jurying begins, in which case a $5 admin fee will be deducted. Local artists in the greater Vancouver/Portland metro area may request a discount code by emailing the gallery prior to submission.
Submission Requirements
- Up to 3 works may be submitted per artist
- Each work should include 1 full image (1200 pixel on longest side); multiple images allowed when entering only 1 work
- Provide title, dimensions (H x W x D), medium/materials, year completed, and short artist statement (200 words max)
- All submissions must be made through the Cafe platform
- Only complete entries that follow all guidelines will be considered
Size & Presentation Requirements
- Wall hung work: Max 72" H. x 48"W x 6"D. Coated wire is preferred for wall work.
- 3D work (free-standing): Max 72" H x 24" W x 24" D. Must be stable and self-supporting.
- Ceiling-mounted installations cannot be accommodated.
Sales & Shipping
All work must be available for sale. The gallery retains a commission on all sales. Artists are responsible for shipping to and from the gallery, including any customs fees or international documentation.
