About
Overview
The Decatur Artway is Decatur's outdoor gallery, featuring dynamic sculptures scattered throughout the city. Sculptures will be displayed on temporary loan for two years, creating an engaging rotating collection of public art around town. An interactive online map will permit public engagement and increase accessibility, with a plaque at each installation site detailing information about the artist and the sculpture. The Decatur Artway is presented by the Decatur Arts Alliance in partnership with the Decatur Tourism Bureau and the Decatur Downtown Development Authority.

- Installation: November–December 2026 (lease begins November 30, 2026)
- Deinstallation: November–December 2028 (lease ends November 30, 2028)
Eligibility
All artists residing in the United States are eligible to apply.
Media & Requirements
All durable outdoor media are encouraged. Sculptures must be professionally constructed of durable materials which will withstand the elements. Only existing and ready-to-install works will be considered; no maquettes or renderings. Work installation dates will be mid to late October but are subject to change due to artist limitations or unexpected circumstances.
Submission Details
Submit up to 3 artworks for consideration. A separate entry form must be used for each sculpture. On each form, up to 5 images of the submitted sculpture may be included.
Fees & Awards
- Entry fee: $20 for up to 3 artworks; entry fee waived for 2nd and 3rd submissions with coupon code
- Selected artists awarded: $2,000 honorarium per work
- Sales commission: 20% retained by Decatur Arts Alliance; deducted from purchase price

Important Note
If the submitted work has been selected and confirmed for another exhibition before October 1, 2026, contact the Decatur Arts Alliance as soon as possible. The sculpture must be available for the duration of the two-year contract.
