Get help here: Cultural Funding Consultation Program description The cross-disciplinary Impact Grant Program is designed to promote diversity in Berlin’s cultural sector, particularly in the field of independent arts. It is aimed at Berlin-based artists and groups whose artistic perspectives have been underrepresented in the cultural sector to date. The program seeks to increase the visibility of these perspectives and facilitate their development. The grant program is designed to be intersectional and actor-centered and is awarded to complement the other grant programs of the Senate Department for Culture and Social Cohesion. Funding is available for both individual and group projects by Berlin-based artists, artist groups, curators, Berlin-based project spaces and initiatives, and associations with an artistic program. Eligible expenses include production and performance costs, as well as material and personnel costs. In the budget, expenses related to accessibility (access costs) may be included under project-related fees and material costs. These include, for example: individual needs of applicants and project participants during the work process, such as German Sign Language (DGS) interpretation or transportation costs for wheelchair users measures that make the program or project accessible to the audience, such as fees for audio description or the costs of installing a ramp or an accessible restroom. All costs must be project-related. A total of approximately €500,000 is available for allocation. This amount is subject to the actual availability of budgetary funds for the year 2027. Institution Senate Department for Culture and Social Cohesion The Senate Department for Culture and Social Cohesion promotes art and culture within the scope of responsibility of the State of Berlin. The focus is on the promotion of qualitatively outstanding projects by Berlin artists. It is the task of the cultural administration to enable cultural participation and equal opportunities - regardless of nationality, ethnic origin, gender, religion or ideology, disability, age or sexual identity. Deadline The submission/application deadline is October 22, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. (CET). Funding period The projects must take place in 2027. Funding criteria Applicants must live in Berlin. Proof of residence is required. The project has not yet begun. Projects may also be co-productions, but they must be publicly presented in Berlin.
