Overview
LIVING FOREST is a curated one-month artistic residency exploring Afro-Indigenous cultures, Atlantic Forest ecosystems, and environmental consciousness. Curated by acclaimed Brazilian artist Bené Fonteles, the residency seeks to examine the interrelationships between art, the sea, and nature while fostering spiritual and cultural understanding rooted in Brazilian cabocla and caiçara traditions.

Location & Accommodation
Residency takes place in São Sebastião, São Paulo, Brazil. Includes private suite accommodation with shared kitchen, swimming pool, laundry, living areas, and community bicycles.

Program Activities
Portfolio readings, studio visits, live performances and debates with special guests, ceremony by Shaman Para'í, Guarani choir, painting with genipapo, Guarani ceramics, indigenous and African food tastings, naturalist-led forest trail, sensory and fire ritual workshops with Bené Fonteles, film presentations, visits to Guarani Rio Silveira Village, craft paper workshop, regional cultural spaces, yoga and dance sessions, fishing village visit, and workshops with public school children. Optional activities include historic São Sebastião tour, hiking to Praia Brava, and boat trips to regional islands.
Fees & Scholarships
- Full residency fee: R$5,850.00
- Payment options: 3 installments, 5% cash discount, or up to 10 credit card installments
- 2 full scholarships available for Afro-descendant and indigenous artists (apply with motivational letter)

Application Requirements
Submit a single PDF file (maximum 10 MB) to [email protected] containing: portfolio with 10 images, mini CV (max. 300 words), pre-project (when requested), and photo identification documents (RG/CPF or CNH for Brazilians; identity card and/or valid passport for foreigners).
