ThaiTai: A Measure of Understanding is a two-stage contemporary art project by Open-Contemporary Art Center (Taiwan) and jiandyin (Thailand) featuring up to 30 artists from both countries. The project explores dialogue between Thai and Taiwanese artists through site-specific works created during residencies in each country.

Stage 2 takes place at URS21 Chung Shan Creative Hub in Taipei, featuring video installations, documentation, photography, sculpture, documentaries, and other media.

  • Hours: Tuesday–Sunday, 10:00am–6:00pm
  • Closed: Mondays and Chinese New Year (January 30 – February 3, 2014)

Stage 1 was held in Bangkok Art and Culture Centre (November 22, 2012 – February 3, 2013). Open-Contemporary Art Center stationed a space in Bangkok for six months to organize artist residency programs. Stage 2 in Taiwan expanded the project scale with Thai artists participating in residencies and creating site-specific works.
