Research residencies for mural artists in Chile

Overview

A two-month research residency for Québec mural artists in Santiago, Chile, resulting from an agreement between CALQ and Lira Arte Público to foster artistic exchanges and cultural dialogue. The selected artist will explore their practice in a new context, form ties with the local arts community, and develop an artistic project rooted in Chile's urban and cultural landscape.

Eligibility

Open to Québec mural artists with at least two years of artistic practice.

Residency details

• Length: Two months, between November 2026 and March 2027 (exact dates to be determined by host organization)
• Location: Lira Arte Público, Santiago, Chile
• Accommodations and workspace provided free

Grant amount

Maximum grant of $9,000 to cover personal insurance, travel, living, and project-related expenses.

What's included

Structured support, meetings with local artists and specialized curators, public activities (workshops, meetings, conferences), and cultural mediation component integrating creation to social and historical realities of the site.

Application rules

You can submit up to five separate applications and receive a maximum of five grants per CALQ fiscal year (April 1st to March 31st). You may only submit one application per registration. Submit applications online via Mon dossier CALQ.
