Get matched →Low Season is a short-term community-engaged residency that allows artists to recharge, create, and connect with the local community during the low season of Block Island, RI. Low Season Artist Projects works directly with the Block Island Arts Council to provide opportunities for art and community on Block Island, RI.
The selected artist receives free lodging and breakfast at the Old Town Inn for the duration of the residency, a $1,000 stipend for living expenses, a travel stipend to cover the Block Island Ferry to and from the island, a virtual studio visit with the visiting critic, and an individual page on the Low Season website with a portfolio of your work.
Nico W. Okoro, executive director of The International Festival of Arts & Ideas and founder and principal of the BLDG FUND, serves as juror and visiting critic.
