City of Brighton Sculpture on Loan 2027

Overview

The City of Brighton Eye for Art Program invites sculpture artists from Colorado and across the nation to submit entries for the 2027 Sculpture-on-Loan Program at Carmichael Park. Each selected artist will receive a $1,000 honorarium, and their sculpture will be prominently displayed from January 2027 through January 2028. The public will vote on a People's Choice Award, with the winner receiving an additional $1,000 honorarium. Up to eight pieces will be selected.

Key Dates

• Submission deadline: 11:59 p.m., Monday, November 9th, 2026
• Artists notified in late November 2026
• Delivery and installation required by January 11th, 2027
• Exhibition: January 11th, 2027 – January 10th, 2028

Eligibility

• Sculpture artists from Colorado and across the nation
• Artist responsible for transportation and installation, including providing tools and equipment
• Selected piece(s) must be available for installation mid-January 2027 through mid-January 2028
• Sculptures must be safe for public interaction, especially children

Media & Size Requirements

• Sculpture only
• Minimum recommended height: 5 feet tall
• Maximum weight: 1,000 pounds
• Must fit on 36" high and 36" square black powder coated steel pedestals
• Cannot be made from wood, plastics, bioplastics, or some mosaics
• Sculptures will be installed outside and exposed to elements including harsh sun, high winds, temperature fluctuations, and moisture

Submission Requirements

• Submit up to 5 applications, with one piece per application
• Images: 1–4 files
• Video: up to 4 files
• All file names must include the title of the piece
