The Studio Rental Program provides affordable studio rentals to PAFA alumni and local Philadelphia artists. Studios are located in PAFA's Samuel M.V. Hamilton Building in downtown Philadelphia. A range of studio types and sizes are available with secure access during designated building hours and a climate-controlled environment.
Studio Types & Pricing
- Private window studios: $350/month (7th floor private window studios: $300/month due to smaller size and noisy environment; prioritized for sculptors)
- Private interior studios: $300/month
- Group studios: $350/month
Studio Locations & Sizes
- 6th Floor: 160 sq. ft. private interior studios
- 7th Floor (most suitable for sculptors): 125–155 sq. ft. private window studios
- 8th Floor: 160–185 sq. ft. private window and interior studios
- 9th Floor: 135–180 sq. ft. private window and gang studios
Costs
- $250 security deposit required upon signing rental agreement
- First month's rent due upon signing
Eligibility
All alumni and external, local Philadelphia artists are eligible. Alumni eligibility consists of any former student who has satisfactorily completed two terms of work from the following School of Fine Arts programs: Bachelor of Fine Arts, Master of Fine Arts, or Certificate Program.
How to Apply

Access & Conditions
Renters will have secure access during designated building hours (with some restrictions during holidays and inclement weather) and a climate-controlled environment. Program structure and details are subject to standard academic and accreditation review and may be updated accordingly.

- Private window studios: $350/month; Private interior: $300/month; Group studios: $350/month. Security deposit: $250. Sizes vary by floor and studio type.
