Overview
The Museum for Art in Wood invites artists and makers who work in wood—building furniture, turning, carving, or otherwise using wood as the primary material in their work—to submit work for consideration for Queering Wood Craft. Guest curated by Deirdre Visser, this exhibition will be both an exploration and celebration of the dynamic intersections between contemporary work in wood and the multiple meanings of queer. The exhibition explores the history of this craft through a queer lens, making visible queer identities and rendering more complex understanding of queer lives, labor, and communal and familial relationships.
