Tall Trees Trailhead Day-Use Online Reservations - Redwood National and State Parks (U.S. National Park Service)

Overview

This is a day-use reservation system for the Tall Trees Trailhead in Redwood National and State Parks. Reservations are required year-round to access and park at the trailhead and can only be made online.

About the Tall Trees Trail

• 4.5-mile round-trip hike classified as moderate to strenuous
• At least 4 hours total time commitment (includes driving and hiking)
• Trail drops 800 feet in the first 1.5 miles
• 1-hour drive from nearest visitor center, including 6 miles on dirt road
• No RVs over 21 feet or vehicles towing trailers
• Pets not allowed on trails

Reservation Types

• In-Advance Reservation: Available up to 180 days in advance. Fee: Free. Gate code emailed 23 hours before hiking date.
• Day-Before Half-Day Reservation: Must be reserved 24 hours before hiking date. Morning (8am-12pm) opens 8am PST the day before; Afternoon (1pm-sunset) opens 1pm PST the day before. Fee: Free. Gate code emailed immediately.

How to Reserve

Reservations are issued online only through Redwood Parks Conservancy. Plan ahead as reservations often fill up in summer. A confirmation email will be sent immediately upon booking.

At the Park

Check your junk/spam folders for emails from Redwood National and State Parks. Bring your confirmation email to the park. If you do not receive the gate code, stop into a park visitor center with your confirmation email.
