Get matched →A five-week visual arts residency inviting artists to explore relational, material, and sonic practices that conceive of land as a resonant environment. Participants work alongside faculty at the forefront of contemporary practice with dedicated studio space, technical facilities, and a community of peers in Banff's mountain setting.
Individual artists or duos (no more than two collaborators) at any stage of career. Applicants must be 18+, have completed formal training in visual arts at post-secondary level or equivalent experience and recognition from peers. Artists from historically underrepresented and equity-deserving groups are especially welcome.
Visual artists working in ceramics, digital media, painting, drawing, printmaking, papermaking, performance art, photography, or sculpture and installation.
Participants receive individual studios with access to shared production facilities, one-to-one faculty mentorship through studio visits and meetings, structured faculty-led activities and workshops, technical skills development assisted by staff technicians, and peer-to-peer informal learning.
Program participants receive a Banff Centre Arts Scholarship that covers the cost of tuition, plus a contribution towards accommodation and meals.
