Overview
The Gilbert Center, located in Downtown Ruston, Louisiana, presents the 2nd Annual Kit Gilbert Juried Showcase, celebrating the creativity and talent of artists from across the country. This exhibition features a wide variety of media and styles, offering a platform for both emerging and established artists. It honors Kit Gilbert's lasting impact on the arts community and aims to foster artistic growth and connection.

Eligibility
Open to artists 18 years or older residing in the United States. All artwork must be original and created since 2020. Any original work completed within the timeframe is welcome; there is no specific theme.
Media & Size
- 2D Works: maximum 84 inches tall × 60 inches wide. Must be ready to hang upon arrival (wired, cleated, bracketed, or with a hook). Unframed works on paper or unmounted photographs will not be accepted.
- 3D Works: maximum 84" height, 36" × 36" footprint, 150 lbs maximum weight. Must be accompanied by an installation description or image and complete dimensions.
- Ceramic works must be fired; greenware (unfired ceramics) will not be accepted.
Application & Fees
- Entry fee: $12 per artwork
- Maximum of 3 entries per artist
- All fees are non-refundable
- All entries must be submitted online using the official Juried Showcase submission form
What to Submit
Each submission must include a high-resolution image of the artwork, title, medium, dimensions, price (if applicable), and an artist statement (250 words or less).
Awards
- Juror's Choice/Best-in-Show: $750 cash prize and certificate of achievement for the most exceptional work embodying Kit Gilbert's artistic legacy
- People's Choice: $500 cash prize and certificate of achievement, voted by visitors at the opening reception
Delivery & Sales
Artists are responsible for delivery and pickup of all artwork. If shipping, artists pay all costs and must supply a return label. Creative Exchange (Gilbert Center Partner) handles all sales and applicable taxes. The Gilbert Center retains a 30% commission on any works sold. Artists receive payment (minus commission and fees) within one month of the exhibition's close.
