The program encourages inventive, under-the-radar, and public-facing work in non-traditional spaces. Artists are encouraged to address the community at large, address the arts community, or choose a smaller, targeted audience. The program also supports proposals from artists or groups interested in expanding their studio practice in new ways and developing new audiences.
Awards are provided to artists living within an 80 mile radius of metropolitan Kansas City.
Up to $6,000 per project.
The program is funded by The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts and is implemented through a partnership between Charlotte Street in Kansas City and Spencer Museum of Art at the University of Kansas in Lawrence, Kansas.
