Get matched →Rhizome, the visual arts department of Maison des Jeunes et de la Culture André Philip, supports a professional or emerging artist through a two-and-a-half-month residency (no housing) with a dedicated studio. The program emphasizes experimental, participatory projects linked to the local territory and school audiences, aiming to build a comprehensive artistic and educational pathway.
Residency dates are flexible and negotiable between November and May of the following year.
For over 20 years, Rhizome has advanced visual arts as a lever for emancipation, creation, and social connection within MJC André Philip. The organization is grounded in accessible pedagogy for amateur practitioners, strong territorial anchoring with residents and local structures, and ongoing dialogue with contemporary art and contemporary artists. Each season, an artist residency enriches the broader program, inspiring workshops, giving meaning to mediation work, and unifying the team around a shared theme. Rhizome holds municipal delegation for artistic programming at Château des Charmettes and is recognized by Seine-et-Marne Department as a visual arts resource venue.
Submit application to [email protected], attention to the director of Rhizome, by 30 November 2026.
