A prestigious interdisciplinary fellowship program hosted by Columbia University in Paris that brings together researchers, artists, and writers for advanced creative work and intellectual exchange. Fellows have their own office at the Institute, administrative and research support, and access to Columbia's libraries and research facilities in Paris and Europe.

The Institute brings together a cohort of up to 15 Fellows each year: half from Columbia faculty and post-docs, the other half artists and writers from around the world.

  • Creative artists, visual and sound artists, filmmakers, composers, and writers not permanently residing in the US

Columbia faculty should notify their department chairs or Dean of their intention to apply. The Institute staff can direct applicants to discuss financial implications of an award. Only faculty are eligible to apply for a single semester fellowship. Groups cannot be accommodated.

Eligibility
Columbia tenured and tenure-track faculty, Barnard and Teacher's College faculty (adjuncts/lecturers only if appointment extends beyond fellowship year), Columbia postdoctoral researchers who completed PhD between September 2024 and December 31, 2026, or international creative artists not permanently residing in the US.
