Exhibit in Our Galleries

Overview

The Alliance for the Arts welcomes proposals for submissions to our Gallery Manager for opportunities to show during our seasons. We are interested in all media. Artists who submit may be offered the opportunity to show as part of a curated exhibit.

Themes

Proposals exploring fine art quilts, site-specific installations, contemporary Florida, ethnicity, fiber art, photography, digital arts, or cultural phenomena are encouraged.

Required Materials

• 20 cohesive images (jpegs), titled with title of work, year, and medium
• Current resume emphasizing collections in which your work is included
• Artist's statement (one or two paragraphs about work or series submitted)
• Additional support materials (copies of reviews, articles) welcome

How to Submit

Proposal submissions can be submitted online or mailed to: Julio González Batista, Gallery and Artist Relations Manager, Alliance for the Arts, 10091 McGregor Boulevard, Fort Myers, FL 33919. Include a self-addressed, stamped envelope for return of materials.

Gallery Details

• Opening receptions are usually held on the first Friday evening of the month
• Exhibitions generally run for three or four weeks
• Gallery hours: Tuesday–Friday 9:00 AM–7:00 PM, Saturday 9:00 AM–1:00 PM
• Closed Sundays except for special events
• No admission fee

Rules

• No work previously exhibited in the galleries of the Alliance for the Arts will be accepted, except for retrospectives
• All works must be ready to exhibit (framed with wire, pedestals, supports, necessary wiring, extension cords, etc.)
• Works sold as a result of exhibitions are subject to 40% commission (30% for AFTA Members)
• Gallery proposals are reviewed periodically rather than on a rolling basis

Requirements at Installation

At the time the show is installed, provide a list of titles, media, and prices. Artists are encouraged to exhibit works that are for sale.
