Erfurt Parkhaus „Am Hirschgarten“ Schaufenster

Call

The city of Erfurt invites artistic proposals for the permanent decoration of approximately 140 running meters of showcase window space on the ground floor of Parkhaus "Am Hirschgarten". The artwork must be durable (minimum 3 years, preferably longer), weather-resistant, and allow for emergency access to the showcase area.

Eligibility

Open to professional visual artists, creatives, agencies, students, universities, and artist collectives with permanent residence in Germany. For collectives, a project lead must be designated.

Budget

40,000 EUR (gross) is available for artistic design, realization, all ancillary costs including artist fee, materials, technical equipment (e.g., ladders, scaffolding, lifts), transport, and travel. Costs must be itemized in a separate cost and financing plan.

Submission Requirements

• Expressive design drawings/representations appropriate to the subject (maximum 4 DIN A3 pages)
• Short concept statement (text maximum one DIN A4 page, single-sided) explaining the design
• Itemized cost and financing plan with separate positions for: artist fee, materials, technical equipment (e.g., ladders, scaffolding, lifts), transport costs, travel costs, and other costs if applicable
• Separate sheet with sender information (name, postal address, email, telephone number)
• Artist's declaration/statement of authorship (see attachment)

Design Possibilities

• Artistic decoration of the back wall using paint (graffiti)
• Artistic decoration of back wall and/or glass surfaces using adhesive coverings
• Sculptural art for installation on the ground (grating surfaces)
• Other forms of presentation adapted to climate and structural conditions

Exclusions

Classical flat artwork—paintings, graphics, photographs, and similar—is not possible due to climate and structural conditions and is not desired for this call.

Selection Process

This is a nationwide, single-stage, anonymous artistic call. A jury will review and judge all submissions according to the stated evaluation criteria.
