Get matched →The VII. International Sculpture Symposium is part of the XII. Lindern Cultural Weeks 2027. Four international artists will work on sculptures in stone, wood, or metal in the town center of Lindern under the motto "Tell me, what are you going to do with your wild, precious life?"
The central question for the cultural weeks and the symposium is: "Tell me, what are you going to do with your wild, precious life?" This quote by Mary Oliver encourages reflection on individual life designs and future concepts. The aim is to transform the individual 'YOU' of the initial question into an approximation of a collective 'WE', fostering community engagement in shaping the future of Lindern.
The call is open to international artists. Artists must be present in the municipality of Lindern for the entire duration of the Cultural Weeks. Travel costs can be covered by the municipality of Lindern upon agreement. Accommodation with full board in a local hotel will be provided by the organizer. Evenings are generally free for artists, but the organizer will arrange some evening meetings to promote interaction between artists and the public.
The work created must have a strong connection to the given theme of the Cultural Weeks. Interested artists should specify whether they wish to work in stone, wood, or metal in their application. Materials will be provided upon agreement with the municipality of Lindern. Assistance will be provided for setting up heavy raw materials on site. Artists must bring their own tools; electricity, compressed air, and water are available.
Artists will receive a fee of 2,000 €. During the Cultural Weeks, participating artists have the opportunity to exhibit and sell additional personal works at their own expense. The works created during the sculpture symposium will remain in the municipality of Lindern as permanent loans, completing the existing sculpture path/SkulpTour.
