Open Call: Born to be alive. Group Exhibition, WOWTE 2026

Overview

A4 Sounds invites artists to propose completed works for the exhibition Born to be alive, part of the We Only Want the Earth Programme. Over 6 weeks, the exhibition will be formed, built, and born from submitted works, beginning with six building blocks from the research. The exhibition acts as an iterative conversation between A4 Sounds, artists, and audiences about the goals and strategies of social change: what kind of society do we want and how should we get there?

Who can apply

• Digital Artworks: Artists based in Ireland or internationally, with particular interest in artists from previously colonised or currently occupied countries and the Global South.
• Physical Artworks: Artists based in Ireland (including the north of Ireland).
• Accepted formats for digital works: video, film, sound, and digital images. Physical works across a wide range of mediums welcome, with particular interest in sound, video, paint, textiles, and sculpture.
• Completed works only; works in progress will not be considered.

Themes

Especially interested in works engaging with social, political, geopolitical, geological, ecological, or speculative themes.

What you get

• Artist Fee: €300
• Transport or budget towards delivery of artworks provided for works outside the greater Dublin Area
