Cultural Investment Grant

Overview

The Cultural Investment Grant was a one-time, $10 million multi-year investment funded by the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA), established by the Mayor's Office of Arts and Culture in January 2023. It aimed to grow and sustain arts and cultural organizations with a vision of a creative, equitable, and more just city, focusing on building capacity for organizations working with communities in Boston most harmed by COVID-19, particularly communities of color.

• Grants ranged from $400,000 - $1 million, distributed over four years

Eligibility

Arts and cultural organizations based in Boston that worked with communities most harmed by COVID-19, particularly communities of color, were eligible for consideration.

Program Goals

• Give organizations a path to thrive in Boston
• Create long-term opportunities for all Boston communities to have access to the arts
• Strengthen the local arts ecosystem
• Build capacity for stabilization, innovation, sustainability, and scaling
