The International Studio & Curatorial Program (ISCP) supports the creative development of artists and curators through 4-month residencies in Brooklyn with access to studio space, public programs, visiting critics, field trips, and a vibrant community of international practitioners. The residency provides a $35,000 grant. ISCP was founded in 1994 and has hosted over 1,250 artists and curators from more than 75 countries. Accommodation is not provided through this program.

  • Applications close: Tuesday 15 September 2026 at 3:00pm AEST
  • Notification date: Early December 2026
  • Residency dates: 1 September – 31 December 2027
  • Note: You must be registered in the application management system a minimum of two business days prior to the closing date
  • Must be an Australian citizen or Australian Permanent Resident
  • Must be a practicing artist or arts worker
  • Must be working on a visual arts project (excluding feature film, television or documentary)
  • Individuals only—no groups or organizations
  • Cannot have submitted another application to the same round of ISCP residency
  • Must not have an overdue grant report
  • Must not owe money to Creative Australia
  • Quality: Artistic practice, quality of previous works, vision and artistic rationale for the proposal, motivation and approach to learning and collaboration
  • Viability: Feasibility and relevance of the proposed activity, realistic and achievable planning within the residency period
  • Impact: How the residency will develop your artistic practice, strengthen professional networks and international engagement, and create future collaboration opportunities
  • Preferred method: up to three URLs (weblinks) linking to video, audio, images, or written content relevant to your proposal
