Overview
Homesession is a visual arts non-profit organisation founded in 2007 that supports emerging and mid-career artists as well as curators through artist international mobility, production and exhibition grants, educational mediation, and community-based projects.
Residency Details
2-month residency for visual artists or curators in Barcelona, August and September 2024. The residency includes a private 18 m2 apartment (bedroom, working space/living room, private bathroom) or a 50 m2 working/exhibition space with kitchenette and toilet. Both include internet wifi, air conditioning/heating, and bed clothes. Non-smoking place; no pets allowed.
Eligibility
Open to artists and curators of any nationality or age, not currently living in Spain. Research projects that do not require artistic production are also accepted.
Cost
2,000€ for the 2-month residency (no shorter duration). This includes lodging and studio space. Travel and living expenses are not included. Homesession may cover some production expenses or material up to 300€ maximum.
Media & Disciplines
Open to all visual arts disciplines including performance, installations, photography, painting, drawing, video art, sound art, and research projects.

Exhibition
The resident can optionally exhibit in the space depending on availability (maximum 2 weeks). The exhibition is optional; research projects that do not require artistic production or exhibition are also accepted.

- Portfolio in PDF format, maximum 30 pages (5 MB max), including presentation of artistic approach, CV, and images of artistic work
- Letter of intent, maximum 2 A4 pages
