Overview
The Decatur Arts Alliance presents the 6th annual Placita Latina exhibition in celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month. This juried exhibition celebrates and showcases the rich and diverse heritage of Latinx and Hispanic culture through painting, photography, sculpture, mixed media, and other forms of creative expression.
Theme: Puentes (Bridges)
This year's theme invites Hispanic and Latinx artists to submit works that explore how art can serve as a bridge to empathy and understanding. Art has the power to connect people across borders, languages, and lived experiences, preserving cultural heritage and creating new pathways for dialogue. "Puentes" celebrates connection, belonging, resilience, and cultural exchange, highlighting the role of creativity in bringing people together.
