About

Overview

This open call invites artists to explore the topic of Food in its many forms, whether literal or figurative. Food is never just food. It is material, metaphor, ritual, and resource. It feeds not only bodies, but identities, cultures, economies, and memories. All media are welcome.

Exhibition Details

  • Dates: Friday, October 23 to Sunday, December 20, 2026
  • Location: Metchosin ArtPod, British Columbia
  • Juror: Janice Beaudoin
  • Work will be juried by an independent juror

Eligibility

Open to international artists.

Media & Submissions

All media welcome, including painting, drawing, sculpture, mixed media, installation, and audio-visual works.

Artist Statement

You will have 1000 words to create an artist statement that situates the work submitted with your artist practice and the theme of the show. Your statement will be used verbatim in the exhibition book that will be sent to Library and Archives Canada as a permanent record.

Fees

  • $10 submission fee per artwork
  • $20 hanging/booth fee for accepted works
  • 30% commission on artwork sold during the show

Submission Tips

ArtCall will time out after one hour, so write longer text in a word processor and paste into ArtCall. Update (Save) your submission frequently. See submission guidelines on the Metchosin ArtPod website for image quality requirements.

Theme
