Alfred University

Alfred University welcomes applications from talented, motivated students from diverse backgrounds and nationalities eager to contribute to campus community.

  • Fall Early Decision: November 1 (Binding; enrollment deposit due December 15)
  • Fall Early Action: December 1 (Non-Binding)
  • Fall Regular Decision: February 1 (Preferred)
  • Spring Regular Decision: December 1
  • Official transcripts from high school (or notarized GED); international students must submit certified copies with English translation
  • Essay or Personal Statement (submit via Alfred University Application or Common Application)
  • At least one letter of recommendation from school counselor or academic instructor
  • Test Scores: Test-optional for domestic students (SAT or ACT); test-required for international students (SAT, ACT, TOEFL, or IELTS)
  • Portfolio (for School of Art & Design applicants) or Audition/Portfolio (for Performing Arts applicants)

Submit all requirements along with your application using either the Alfred University Application or Common Application.

  • Submit enrollment deposit to hold your place
  • Complete Accepted Student Checklist and Deposited Student Checklist
  • Register for required Orientation session
  • Complete Orientation Checklist before arrival
