About the exhibition
De Kunsthof presents a joint exhibition by Jan Snijder and Sabine Liedtke. Jan Snijder's works draw on universal values of landscape, finding inspiration in quiet rural areas of Friesland and the Wadden Islands. Rather than depicting specific locations, his paintings express inner landscapes and deeper emotions through the interplay of light, sound, and atmosphere. Sabine Liedtke creates drawings on various sizes and types of paper, sometimes combined with paint or photography, as well as ceramics. She focuses on details from nature, using repetitive line and dot work to isolate subjects and explore abstract and figurative forms.
Artists
Jan Snijder (born Surhuisterveen, 1960) is self-taught and lives and works in Drachten. His work is included in the collections of Museum Belvédère and Museum Dr8888. Sabine Liedtke (born Drachten, 1971) graduated from the Minerva Academy in Groningen and lives and works in Drachten. Her work is included in the collection of the Belvédère Museum.
