Overview
From the Ground Up is an annual in-person juried group exhibition presented by Visionary Art Collective in partnership with Warnes Contemporary, curated by Erika b Hess. The exhibition explores how artists investigate landscape today through various disciplines and mediums.

Eligibility
Artists of all career levels based in the United States are welcome to apply.
Media & Mediums Accepted
All 2D and 3D mediums, including painting, drawing, photography, digital, prints, fiber art, collage, mixed media, sculpture, ceramics, and installation art. Film and video are not accepted at this time. No specific size requirements.
Submission Requirements
High-quality images at 72 DPI, minimum 800 pixels wide. All 2D images must be cropped to show only the artwork. 3D work must be photographed against a white background. Include a bio (max 300 words) and artist statement (max 300 words). Files must be no larger than 10 MB.
Fees & Submissions
- 1–2 images: $25
- 3–4 images: $30
- 5–6 images: $35
- Submission fees are non-refundable
Commission & Sales
Artwork included in this exhibition must be for sale. Selected artists will sign a consignment agreement. The artist receives 50% of profit from sold artwork; Warnes Contemporary receives 50%. Artists must include a return shipping label when mailing work to the gallery.

- From the Ground Up explores how artists investigate landscape today. The landscape serves as a jumping-off point for examining perception and its relationship to culture, politics, and memory, through abstraction, realism, invention, and experimental forms—whether urban or rural, real or imagined, material or symbolic.
