Overview
The Artist in Residence Programme at MuseumsQuartier Vienna is part of ERSTE Foundation's long-term effort to support contemporary art and strengthen the situation of artists in Central, Eastern and Southeastern Europe. The residency is carried out in cooperation with tranzit, Igor Zabel Association, and Kontakt Collection. The research-focused residencies provide artists and curators the opportunity to take a break from production pressure and concentrate on specific artistic interests.
Eligibility
Open to artists and curators from Croatia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Romania, Slovak Republic, Slovenia, and Ukraine working in the field of critical contemporary visual art. An additional two-month grant is available for participants from Ukraine.
Programme Details
Participants live and work for two months in MuseumsQuartier studios in Vienna. Selection is made by a jury comprised of ERSTE Foundation and its project partners.

- November–December 2026: Vladyslav Riaboshtan (Ukraine, postponed from 2025)
