About
Overview
The Institut Français d'Indonésie, Fundação Oriente, and Cité internationale des arts announce a creative and research residency program for Timorese artists from all disciplines. The program aims to encourage artist mobility from Timor-Leste and expand their professional and artistic networks.

Eligibility
- Must be a Timorese artist-researcher of any age
- At least 5 years of professional artistic experience required
- Must be fluent in English or French
- Open to artists in visual and performance arts, music and sound research, live performance, writing, design, architecture-urbanism, curatorial practice, or art criticism
Selection Criteria
The jury will evaluate candidates' professional backgrounds, the artistic quality of the project, the value added by a residency in Paris at Cité internationale des arts, the proposed work plan, and any established contacts or partnerships related to the residency project.
How to Apply
Submit applications through an online form (Google account required). Only one application will be selected.
Required Application Materials
- Detailed curriculum vitae (maximum 4 pages, in French or English)
- Artistic portfolio with artwork visuals and full captions (maximum 15 pages, in French or English, with video or audio links if applicable)
- Statement of intent explaining research project, motivations, and interest in the residency, including reasons why the work requires this residency in Paris from artistic, career, and professional networking perspectives (maximum 3 pages)
Residency Conditions
Laureates will be housed in live-in-studios at the Marais site consisting of a workroom, kitchen, bathroom, and sleeping area. A live-in-studio can accommodate up to two adults and one child up to 10 years old; additional fees apply for accompanying persons. The proposed studios do not currently meet accessibility standards for people with disabilities.
