Get matched →The Emerging Curators Fellowship is a year-long funded opportunity for emerging curators to develop and present two exhibitions at the Robert T. Matsui Gallery inside Sacramento City Hall. One fellow will produce and mount two exhibitions (each on view for 4 months) with support from a curatorial mentor appointed by the Office of Arts & Culture.
Must be 18 years or older. Must live and work within 50 miles of Sacramento. Cannot have curated or co-curated more than 6 exhibitions. Cannot be enrolled in full-time degree program or working full-time in a curatorial capacity. Cannot be currently employed by City of Sacramento or contracted for administrative services by OAC within past 12 months, including sitting on any City commission or board. Teams/collectives may apply if working together to curate both shows as a unit.

Exhibitions will be held at Robert T. Matsui Gallery inside Sacramento City Hall (915 I Street, entrance on H Street). Gallery hours for in-person visits: Monday–Friday, 8am–4pm. No damage or alterations to building permitted, including floor and ceiling. Final installation must comply with ADA and building codes and is subject to building manager approval.
