Roadblocks is an open call exhibition exploring the concept of barriers — both tangible and abstract — that shape our societies and individual lives. Artists are invited to examine how roadblocks are constructed, perceived, and sometimes dismantled through 2D, 3D, and digital artworks.

  • Submission deadline: September 18, 2026

Open to all artists 18 years and older. International applicants welcome.

  • All mediums accepted including videos and installations
  • Submit up to 3 works of art (JPEG images, videos, or installation documentation)
  • Work must have been completed within the past 5 years
  • Work previously shown in any Studio Montclair exhibition will not be accepted
  • No giclee reproductions of original art accepted
  • JPEG files should be no larger than 2MB with a minimum size of 1600 pixels on the longest side
  • Digital images should be cropped to show only artwork; if edges are irregular, photograph against a black background
  • Artwork must be available for the duration of the exhibition; no substitutions accepted after selections are finalized
  • Studio Montclair Members: no fee
  • Non-Members: $42
