This open call is only for artists living in Washington, DC, Maryland, and Virginia creating original 2D work, in any medium. Submitted artwork must be from 2023-2026 and not have been shown in the Hill Center Galleries previously. All artwork must be available for sale.
Artwork must be delivered directly to and picked up from the Hill Center (we cannot accept shipments or ship work back). Work must be ready to hang using the Hill Center’s cable-and-hook Arakawa Hanging System. No size restrictions apply, as 14’ ceilings in some gallery space can accommodate large pieces. All dimensions must include frames and must be listed by width and height in inches. All entries must be submitted online through our application platform EntryThingy.com.
Every listing links to the organizer's official page. Always confirm deadlines, fees, and entry rules there before you apply.
Artists selected for the exhibition will be asked to sign the Hill Center Galleries Consignment Agreement. Hill Center Galleries shall sell artwork at the sales price submitted in the online entry, plus applicable DC sales tax, and remit proceeds to the artist, retaining a 30% sales commission. No price changes will be allowed after the call deadline.
The Juror requests a short artist statement and a description of each piece. For help with your entry, email EntryThingy support at [email protected] or call (202)-549-4172 during regular business hours.
