Make Eindhoven offers two 3-month work periods for visual artists to research and experiment with metal casting, glass processing techniques, graphic techniques, and CAD/CAM. Experienced advisors provide instruction and support in a collaborative workshop environment that encourages innovation and crossovers between techniques and materials.

  • 1 March – 28 May 2027
  • 30 August – 26 November 2027
  • 1 artist per period

Preference is given to visual artists with a reasonable degree of professional experience seeking new challenges and growth. Artists must have a strong fundamental basis to navigate the array of possibilities available. Make Eindhoven also welcomes artists with little or no experience with materials who are keen to experiment. Applications as duos are not possible.

The residency includes access to workshops for metal casting, glass warm-glass techniques (slumping, casting, fusing), various graphic techniques (letterpress, planographic, intaglio, transfer), and CAD/CAM laboratory work. Large formats are possible in all workshops thanks to large-format screen printing tables, presses, and ovens. Artists are provided a studio near Make Eindhoven within cycling distance, with a bicycle made available.

The Mondriaan Fund provides a monthly contribution of €2,402 per artist to help cover travel expenses, material costs, and living costs for one person. Selected residents are expected to pay a 10% personal contribution, which the Mondriaan Fund automatically accounts for in the ultimate subsidy. The contribution to artists based in the Caribbean part of the Kingdom can be increased to meet higher travel costs on a case-by-case basis.

  • Deadline: Thursday 27 August 2026, before 16:00 Dutch time / 10:00 Caribbean time
  • State your preference for work period on the application form

Selection is made by an advisory committee based on submitted documents. The committee proposes candidates to Make Eindhoven, who make the final decision on participants. An interview may be part of the selection process. Processing time for the selection procedure may exceed three months. When applying for two different residencies within the same call, the quality assessment is only conducted once and is valid for both applications.

Before submitting an application, applicants must review the Residency page for full terms and conditions, application procedure, and assessment procedure, as well as terms applicable to Mondriaan Fund contributions.
