Hygge (pronounced HOO-guh or HUE-guh) is a Danish term describing a quality of coziness and comfortable conviviality that fosters contentment and well-being. This year's holiday exhibit features works celebrating the small joys of life, embracing relaxation and quiet pleasures, and supporting the well-being of everyone. Artists are invited to submit work in any medium that represents their personal style while embracing the feeling of hygge. The organizers encourage artists to produce artwork at affordable price points for the gift-giving season.

  • Call opens: July 31, 2026
  • Submission deadline: September 16, 2026
  • Work delivery deadline: November 7, 2026
  • Exhibition opens: November 21, 2026 (5–7 PM opening reception)
  • Exhibition closes: January 9, 2027
  • Work pickup: January 10–11, 2027 (10 AM–2 PM); all work must be picked up by January 31, 2027
  • Submit up to 4 pieces per artist
  • Each piece must be your own original work
  • Work must be created in the last 3 years
  • Work must never have been previously shown in Okanogan County
  • All work must be available for sale
  • Any size accepted
  • Any medium accepted
  • Work must be ready for hanging with appropriate hardware/wire secured; professionally presented frames required (no dented or scratched frames unless intentional)
  • Fill out the online submission form at confluencegallery.wufoo.com/forms/hygge-call-for-artsubmission (each piece requires a separate entry)
  • Email high-quality JPGs (300 dpi) to [email protected] for promotional consideration
  • By November 7: deliver completed works to The Confluence; submit completed Confluence contract, Artist Statement, and Bio to the online submission form

The Confluence is a non-profit gallery. Non-member artists receive a 60/40 commission structure (60% artist, 40% gallery); member artists receive 65/35 (65% artist, 35% gallery). All shipping costs to and from the gallery for unsold works are the artist's responsibility.
