This exhibit is open to current Iowa State University students of any major. Each artist may submit up to 3 works. All artwork must be original and not previously displayed in a past MU exhibit.
Art can be any two-dimensional or three-dimensional media, including non-traditional gallery media such as apparel design, graphic design, and scale models. All artwork must be original and in ready-to-install condition.
The jury will determine: Best of Show ($200), 3 Merit Awards ($150 each), and 2 Honorable Mentions ($75 each). The Memorial Union Gallery Coordinator will also choose a Purchase Award winner; the MU will acquire the selected piece for its Permanent Art Collection.
Indicate whether artwork is for sale or not for sale when entering information. If for sale, provide a sale price; if not for sale, provide an insurance value. The Memorial Union receives a 20% commission on all art sales.
Accepted pieces must be delivered to Memorial Union Art Gallery, Room 1568 on Sunday, October 11 (4–5pm) or Monday, October 12 (11am–1pm) in ready-to-install condition. Two-dimensional art (not on stretched canvas) must be framed, with matting highly recommended. Works on stretched canvas do not require framing but sides must be finished. Fiber pieces meant to be hung must include casings and hanging rods. All wall-hung pieces require a secure hanging mechanism (wire preferred). Sculptures must be stable when freestanding. Apparel should include a dress form provided by the artist. Any accepted pieces not accurately depicted in entry images may be rejected.
Every listing links to the organizer's official page. Always confirm deadlines, fees, and entry rules there before you apply.
