About
Overview
The Kota Residency Programme (Third Edition) is a fully funded three-month residency in Paris, jointly launched by the Institut Français d'Indonésie and the Cité internationale des arts to foster mobility of artists based in Indonesia. Two artists will be awarded a residency.
Eligibility
- Open to artists and cultural practitioners of all nationalities
- Must have been living and working in Indonesia for at least 7 years
- Minimum 5 years of professional artistic experience
- Fluent in English or French
- Work professionally in visual arts, performance, sound and music research, performing arts, literature, design, or architecture/urbanism
- No age limit
- Collective applications (duo, collectives) not eligible
Program Benefits
- Live-in studio at the Cité internationale des arts in the Marais district (single furnished space for living and working)
- Monthly stipend of €1,700 net of taxes
- Round-trip international airfare from Indonesia to Paris

Additional Information
- Transport of works or experimental materials will not be covered
- A final report of the experience is required at the end of the residency
- Studios accommodate up to two adults and one child under 10; additional charges apply for accompanying persons
- Studio-apartments do not currently meet accessibility standards for people with disabilities; case-by-case support available
- Jury evaluates professional backgrounds, artistic quality of project, added value of Paris residency, proposed work plan, and established contacts or partnerships
- Particular attention given to applications from artists based in regions remote from Indonesia's major urban centers
