Equisoain Art Residency is a living eco-laboratory and cultural initiative founded by artists and curators Eliana Perinat and Lívia Diniz. Located in Navarra, Spain, under the shadow of Mount La Higa, it operates in collaboration with LABEA (Laboratorio de Arte, Ciencia y Naturaleza), the international Eternal Forest network, and Asociación Despierta. Rooted in ecological thought, somatic practice, and interspecies co-creation, the platform invites artists to move beyond treating nature as a passive subject, framing the forest and its ecosystems as active co-authors of contemporary creative research.

The residency offers a 15-day retreat in Navarra. Residents live and work inside a restored 15th-century bioclimatic tower-house nestled within a beech, oak, and boxwood forest. The program includes guided forest walks (Insight Art), natural ink and biomaterial harvesting workshops (Inks, Matter and Landscape), and interspecies co-creation archives. Selected artists receive a formal Institutional Co-Authorship Protocol document to negotiate the forest's co-authorship status with museums and galleries.

  • 15-day stay in a bioclimatic eco-house
  • Shared 119 m² indoor studio and 77 m² outdoor working terrace
  • Three shared kitchens
  • Direct access to surrounding forests, meadows, and streams
  • Insight Art: Somatic presence and nature connection sessions led by Eliana Perinat
  • Inks, Matter and Landscape (2026): Natural pigment collection and extraction with Isabel Moltó
  • Experimental Nature Workshops (2027): Deep listening, ritual, and storytelling guided by Evgenia Emets
  • Optional 1:1 mentorship sessions with Eliana Perinat, Lívia Diniz, Eduardo Bonito, and Isabel Ferreira

Open globally to national and international artists of any background or origin. Practice must demonstrate a genuine, non-extractive dialogue with nature, living systems, and ecological processes. Program operates in English and Spanish (with support in Portuguese and French). Partners and children are welcome (details and extra fee arrangements specified upon application).
