Applications are open for the IFP Residency, which supports cross-disciplinary research that proposes strategies to collect information, produce work, or conduct artistic experiments. Research in any discipline is welcome if it can provide contemporary arts with new insights, modes of thinking, or research strategies.
Open to artists and researchers, including those in disciplines other than the arts. Residency proposals must demonstrate a link to the local Chinese context.
Rolling applications with no set deadline. It is strongly advised to send your application package at least 5 months prior to your intended stay.
Accepted projects receive a studio workspace and local assistance. IFP has partnerships with the Mondriaan Foundation (Netherlands), Iaspis (Sweden), the Australia Council for the Arts, and the Danish Arts Council, which provide specific grants for residencies at IFP.
Artists must raise funds for travel, production, and per diem in collaboration with IFP, unless covered by one of the partner grants. Application is free.
