Overview
Langley City invites emerging artists, designers, and creatives from the Lower Mainland to submit original artwork for the Fall Street Banner Program 2026-01. Selected artwork will be displayed as street banners throughout downtown Langley City, transforming the area into an outdoor gallery.
What We're Looking For
- Two complementary banner designs designed as a left and right banner pair
- Artwork that reflects the spirit of the fall season
- Creative interpretations inspired by Langley City's people, places, nature, culture, and community spirit
- Bold, visually engaging artwork viewable from a distance
- Strong colour contrast suitable for outdoor setting
- Original, family-friendly artwork appropriate for public display
- Artwork suitable for vertical banner format

- Artists working in painting, illustration, photography, printmaking, mixed media, digital art, or other visual arts practices
- Artists from the Lower Mainland and surrounding region

Banner Specifications
Approximately 32 inches (W) × 60 inches (H), in a vertical format. Important design elements must remain clear of top and bottom edges where banner hardware may cover artwork. Final artwork must be in CMYK colour format for production.
File Formats
- Accepted formats: AI, EPS, PDF, TIFF/JPG (300 dpi), PSD, or InDesign
- Maximum file size: 60 MB
How to Apply
- Two complementary banner designs (left and right banner)
- Completed banner template using required 8½" × 11" scaled layout
- Artist statement of no more than one page describing the artwork and its connection to the theme
- Current artist resume, CV, or biography
- Artwork files in accepted format

Award & Compensation
The selected artist will receive an honorarium of $1,000 CAD for the completed banner design package consisting of the left and right banner pair. Fabrication, printing, and installation costs will be covered by Langley City. Selected artists may be contacted to discuss minor revisions before final production.
