Fish Factory Creative Centre welcomes applications for its self-directed artist residency programme in Stöðvarfjörður, a small coastal village in East Iceland. Housed in a 2,800 m² former fish factory, the centre offers artists time and space for focused work, experimentation and reflection. Residents manage their own schedules and projects without a required outcome or formal teaching programme. Community develops through shared meals, informal exchanges and occasional open studios.

  • 11–27 January 2027 (shorter, cheaper option)
  • 1–26 February 2027
  • 3–29 March 2027

Residents stay in a private bedroom in shared artist housing, approximately five minutes' walk from the centre. They have access to a shared studio and, following consultation with the team, facilities for ceramics, printmaking, photography, woodwork and other forms of production. Workshop access depends on the resident's experience and relevant safety requirements. Fish Factory does not provide technicians to produce work on behalf of residents.
