Künstlerdorf Schöppingen Residency Fellowship 2027 offers professional visual artists, authors, and composers the opportunity to live and work in an international artist residency environment in Germany. The fellowship provides dedicated time, financial support, studio infrastructure, and opportunities for exchange with other creative practitioners. The program does not require participants to complete a specific production or present a final artwork; it emphasizes artistic process, experimentation, and independent development.

  • Artists with physical, cognitive, or sensory disabilities are encouraged to contact organizers to discuss accessibility requirements
  • Monthly stipend: €1,500 for individuals; €1,000 per person for collectives (max €3,000/month)
  • Residency accommodation in Schöppingen (rent and operational costs approximately €100–200/month deducted from stipend)
  • Stay of 2–6 months according to agreement and availability
  • Access to studios and infrastructure of Künstlerdorf Schöppingen
  • No obligation to create a final production or present completed work
  • Opportunities to participate in lectures, readings, workshops, discussions, and presentations
  • Travel, insurance, and material costs are generally not covered

The selection jury evaluates applications based on quality of previous artistic work, quality and feasibility of the proposed project in relation to Schöppingen, and potential contribution to interaction and community building among fellows.
