About
Overview
Explanatory notes on Art Commission from the Mondriaan Fund. Amounts must be stated exclusive of VAT. The grant is awarded exclusive of VAT, unless the applicant is not liable for VAT, in which case a statement from the Tax and Customs Administration should be sent.
Budget Requirements
The Mondriaan Fund requires a clear and specified overview of variable project costs. The total costs must equal the overall level of financial cover, including the Mondriaan Fund contribution. The budget must be balanced, and crucial items should be supported by quotations. The organisation's fixed costs, such as employees, management expenses, and overheads will not be reimbursed. The grant does not cover contingency costs.
Maximum Contributions
The maximum contribution from the Mondriaan Fund is 50% if it concerns a specific commission, unless otherwise stated. For development phase applications, the contribution is up to 70%, to a maximum of €15,000.
Artist Fees
The applicant is expected to pay a realistic fee to the artist, based on the Guideline for Artists' Fees or those of the Central Government Real Estate Agency. Non-cultural commissioning parties may apply for the fees for the artist or artists in question.
