About
Overview
Small Wonders 2026 is the 22nd annual exhibition for artists who dream big but work small. All original 2D or 3D work under 11 inches in all directions (including frame and display) is welcome, with no limit on creativity or media. Works will be blind juried by professional art experts and exhibited at MFA Circle Gallery.
Key Dates
- July 28: Online entry opens for submissions
- September 30: Entry deadline
- October 29: Notification at 5 PM
- November 18–22: Accepted and shipped work must arrive at MFA Circle Gallery (12–4 PM)
- November 25: Exhibition opens
- November 30: Virtual awards ceremony (5:30–6:30 PM via Zoom)
- December 3: Opening reception (5–8 PM) and awards presentation at 6 PM
- December 10 and 17: Additional Midnight Madness receptions (5–8 PM)
- December 22: Last day of exhibition
- December 22–23: Pick-up hand-delivered work (11 AM–4 PM)
- December 30: Shipped work will be sent
Eligibility
Entry is open to artists residing in any of the states or territories of the United States, Canada, and Mexico. All original work completed within the past 3 years is eligible. Work previously exhibited at MFA Circle Gallery is not eligible for re-entry.
Submission Requirements
A maximum of 6 original works may be entered per artist. All work must be uploaded through artcall.org with file size no more than 10 MB. For video submissions, put the link in the Linked Web Resource field and upload a still frame; accepted video submissions must be delivered on a thumbdrive.
Size & Media
All work must be under 11 inches in all directions, including edges of artwork or frame. Work exceeding the 11-inch limit is not eligible for entry. There is no limit on media or creativity.
Sales & Commission
All work must be for sale (price may be set to Price on Request). Artists retain 70% from sales; MFA retains 30% commission on work sold through MFA. Members receive 75%/25% split respectively.
Juror
Abby Daggett, Gallery Director and Marketing Director at Maine Art Hill, one of New England's premier fine art galleries. Daggett brings an international perspective informed by study and work in Europe, including an internship at the Peggy Guggenheim Collection in Venice.
